Survive sleep mode

Feb 2, 2010 at 5:53 PM

Hi,

First of all: Great tool!!!

I created a Service Application with some gps stuff and write the status into a logfile every minute.

Unfortunattly the app stops as soon as my device falls in sleep mode.

I am not sure if "sleep" is the correct word.

I mean: My device shut down the screen after 1 minute, and I have to push the Powerbutton to awaken it again.

Could you tell me how to avoid this?!

I want the service run forever at every time.

Thanky you very much in advance.

BR

Matthias

Hi Matthias,

the problem is, that your service is not running in unattended mode. It runs, by default, in supended mode, which means,it gets suspended by default, if power switches off.

There is a solution for your problem, but I just want you to emphasize you to keep in mind that running unattended with heavy work will drain your battery.

A solution can be found under http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/windowsmobiledev/thread/9bb19f41-c3dc-4fe5-a0f6-c86b46c1631d/.

Cheers, Peter
